What is LumiCode?

LumiCode is about “seeing” your software designs. The diagrams and reports you create with LumiCode show what actually exists at the time you create them, so they are always up to date.

What can LumiCode do?

LumiCode produces diagrams and reports quickly from the information in .NET assemblies. So quickly that you can do it anytime, without disrupting your work. This is important for any development process, but especially so for Agile processes where there is often no time set aside for documenting.

Many small diagrams are better than a few large ones. LumiCode lets you choose how much detail goes into each diagram and report.

Sets of diagrams and reports are saved as a LumiCode project. They can be viewed from within LumiCode or printed. Diagrams can be converted to bitmaps and included in documents produced by other tools such as Word or PowerPoint®

How you can use LumiCode

• Before coding - Successful projects begin with experimentation and rapid prototypes. Because LumiCode is quick and easy, these early efforts can be diagrammed to form a basis for discussion and design.
• During coding - Discussions with project managers, product managers, and other team members will suddenly have diagrams to refer to. The resulting clarity will assure that everyone is on the same page.
• After coding - Create a well designed set of documents to serve as the basis for bringing new developers up to speed for maintenance and ongoing development.
